I used to work at the Dutch Tax Authorities and trained to become a wildlife animal caretaker, but eventually decided to become a horse photographer, something I had secretly dreamed of for years. My love for horses started at a very young age, but with two parents who had little to do with horses, it took a while before I was finally allowed to take riding lessons. From that very first ride, I was hooked. That feeling of partnership with such a magnificent animal is incredible. It’s something only horse people truly understand, because it’s impossible to explain to someone who’s never experienced it.

In 2009, I started photographing everything that moved and everything that didn’t. I carried my camera everywhere with me, until in 2013 someone wanted to buy a photo from me. I couldn’t believe it! Something inside me thought, “If one person wants to buy a photo, there must be more.” I decided to specialize in horse photography, followed various workshops and courses on both photography and entrepreneurship, and from that year on, my camera never left my side. That journey has led me to where I am today: a full-time horse photographer.

About me

Who's behind the camera?

A photograph stops time, allowing a memory to live forever.

As a “horse girl,” I know all too well what a bond with a horse truly means. It’s something special that you only understand if you’ve experienced it yourself. You’re completely in your element, forgetting all the worries around you while you and your best friend are wrapped up in your own little bubble. Sadly, horses often don’t live as long as we do, and that’s when photos turn out to be incredibly important. Unfortunately, I had to make that mistake myself before I truly realized it.

Together with my first pony, Natasja, I have exactly one nice photo from a competition we rode together. Of the horses that came after, I have hardly any photos at all, and I regret that deeply now. When I talk about my previous horses, I can’t show people what they looked like, and even my own memories of them are starting to fade. Luckily, with my business, I can help you avoid making the same mistake.

As a horse photographer, my goal is to capture your unique bond and turn it into the most beautiful memories. Let’s create them together.

From Amateur to professional

I’ve had several different jobs, but none of them brought me the happiness and freedom I experience now. A good salary is nice, but in the end, doing what truly makes you happy matters most, because that’s what pays off the most in the long run. I photograph all over the country and now also teach other photographers how to shape their businesses in a way that allows them to do exactly what they love while keeping it profitable. Because no matter how much like a fairytale it may sound, it really is possible.

In addition to photoshoots and guiding fellow photographers, you’ll also find me at shows and competitions both nationally and internationally. I’ve photographed at various championships and am the official photographer for several associations.
